There are allot of guitars on this demo. I haven’t worked on the drums much yet but the guitar and bass are done. I’ve been trying to add some solos but nothing seems to be fitting the way I’d like.
I’ve gotten all the ballads out of my system for now and have been working on some heavier songs. The drums need some work on this demo but the rhythm guitars and bass are done.
This demo came about after being inundated with advertisements for “Djent” music and amp plugins being pushed down my throat on YouTube and Facebook. Regardless, I do like how this song has come out so far.
Demo for a song I’ve been working on called ARK.
I drew inspiration for this song from the early to mid 90s metal I grew up playing. Testament is the first band that comes to mind. This is my favorite song within the new demos.
I’ve got the song structure worked out on this one, just need to add the extras to it. This one features piano and a string section which I think give some nice atmosphere. “Interstellar” is the current working title of this demo and is subject to change.
This demo is has the whole song structure laid out but no leads. I’m not entirely sure where to go with from here.
I’d really like to work on this song some more. All of my songs have always been instrumentals but I’d really like to get a vocalist to work on this with me. I could instead record the vocal melody lines with guitar but I don’t think it would have the same impact. Who knows. Maybe.
I’ve been working slow and steady on material for album of original material. My hope is that I can get an album out at towards the end of spring next year. My writing and recording happens at the same time for the most part. I’ll usually write my main idea for a song before recording anything but once I’ve gotten it recorded I immediately start building the song structure. I do it this way so that the song is recorded as soon as the writing is finished. Doing it this way allows me to start the mixing stage of the song as soon as it’s written. So far everything is going smoothly and I have about 3 songs almost ready for mixing but I’ll likely wait until I’ve got about 10 songs before I move on to the mixing stage.
No, I’m not referencing the Staind song. It’s referencing the fact that I haven’t released any new music in nearly a decade. I’m proud to say that I’ve been working on some original music in the last several months as well as the beginnings of a cover song. Basically the only time I have a chance to work on writing and recording songs is after my kids have went to bed and on the weekends (#dadlife).
